Your data and privacy
As a guest
Everything you do is stored in this browser on this device, and nowhere else. Clearing the browser's site data erases it, so keep a backup (Progress → Export progress (JSON)) if it matters to you.
With an account
Stored in the app's database:
- your name, email, optional cohort and a protected (hashed) password, or your Google sign-in;
- your synced progress (see Accounts and sync for what syncs);
- if you join the leaderboard, your display name and points.
Not stored in your account: the theme, a half-finished quiz, and Alfond's conversation, which stay on your device.
Who sees what
- Nobody sees your progress except you.
- If you join the leaderboard, other signed-in students see your display name, cohort and scores. Leave it any time.
- The class average on the exam plan is an average only: no one's own readiness is shown.
- Questions to Alfond and AI explanations go through the site's server to an AI provider to be answered. Don't put personal details in them.
The Class Drive
The Class Drive shows only file names and lets you open the files in Google's viewer. It's for signed-in students and is never shown to search engines.
Download or delete
On the Account page:
- Download my data gives you everything in your account as a file.
- Delete account removes the account and its progress permanently.
The full Privacy Policy and Terms of Service have the details.
