Taking a quiz, sections of big banks, reviewing missed questions, and why the order changes every time.

Quizzes

Each subject has a bank of multiple-choice questions, every one with an explanation. Quizzes are for checking what you know and for finding the gaps.

Taking a quiz

  1. Open Quizzes and pick a subject. The list shows your last score and how many questions are waiting for a retry.
  2. Press Start quiz.
  3. Answer with a tap, or press A–E (or 1–5). You see straight away whether you were right, with the explanation.
  4. Press Enter or Space to go on. The numbered navigator and ← → move between questions.
  5. At the end you get your score, a full review of every question, and your score trend over recent attempts.

Some questions have a figure (a micrograph or a labelled diagram). Tap it to see it full screen.

If you leave halfway, Resume picks up where you left off next time; Start over throws that attempt away.

Big banks come in sections

A bank of more than 50 questions is split into sections of about 25. Pick one section at a time below Start quiz, or start the whole bank if you have the time.

Why the order changes

Questions and their options are shuffled on every attempt. That way you learn the answer, not its position ("it was C last time").

Questions you got wrong come back

  • Review missed only (after a quiz) retries just the questions you missed in that attempt.
  • Every missed question also joins a due list for that subject. Review due questions asks only those, and a question leaves the list once you answer it correctly in a later attempt.
  • The exam plan and Progress pages can start a drill of the questions you miss most often.

Explain this

After answering, Explain this shows the passages from the subject's ebook and summary that match the question. Signed in, you can also ask the AI to explain the answer and why your choice was wrong. See Alfond and Explain this.

How scores are counted

Your score is the questions you got right out of the questions in that attempt; an unanswered question counts as wrong. Quiz scores feed into readiness on the exam plan and into the leaderboard (1 point per correct answer).
